Tailbacks and big delays hit rush hour commuters
Motorists using junction 10 of the M20 found themselves facing heavy delays this morning after a lorry caught on fire.
Emergency teams were called and treated the flames - but threw up an exclusion zone around the vehicle due to concerns about cylinders it was carrying overheating.
It meant delays at the junction of the A2070 and junction 10 - with knock-on effects for all lanes of traffic filtering onto the busy junction.
There were big delays stretching down the coastbound M20 - almost reaching junction nine - as cars were held up as they tried to exit the motorway.
Traffic was diverted down the Hythe Road towards Ashford, leading to heavy congestion around the town.

Everytime Junction10 gets blocked the residents of Sevington and those who work on the business park get blocked in. It is about time the exit from Barrey Road enabled us to turn right. Either a roundabout or traffic would be acceptable to the residents of Sevington.
