Acclaimed singer-songwriter adds venue to Sings JC to Sleep Tour
Highly acclaimed singer-songwriter Chris T-T becomes the latest big name to play an intimate show at Folkestone art cafe Googies next month.
The influential underground artist, who has toured in the past with the likes of Elbow, Divine Comedy and KT Tunstall, will perform at the venue on May 12.
He will be playing his new concept EP, The Taking of Clarkson’s Lighthouse - a tragic tale of a TV presenter, a violent island uprising and the last surviving Fraggle - in addition to tracks from his eight albums.
He was described by the Sunday Times as “outstanding, an indispensable genius”.
He has also recently performed with Jim Bob - lead singer with 1990s chart-toppers Carter USM.
The venue has become popular with those connected to Carter - guitarist Les ‘Fruitbat’ Carter, who now lives in the seaside town, recently performed at the venue with his band Abdoujaparov, while Jim Bob has a sold out show scheduled for June.
