ST NICHOLAS’S CHURCH in New Romney has had 150ft of lead stolen from its roof.

The theft was discovered during choir practice earlier this month when choristers noticed water leaking through the church roof.

When wardens investigated, they discovered that a long strip of lead flashing had been rolled up and removed from the north valley roof.

Anyone with information is asked to phone police on 01303 289180
